The Boston Red Sox Foundation is preparing plans to choose Bianca Smith as a coach for small tournaments. Therefore, this decision is crucial as Smith will be the first Black woman to hold a professional baseball coaching job.

Smith played softball at Dartmouth College from 2010 to 2012. Most recently, she was a soccer coach at Carroll University. Before that, she was a sports compliance assistant at Case Western Reserve University. She has experience coaching and supporting Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers organizations. Smith is also a trainee of the Major League Baseball corporate office.
